Who can do a Masters Degree?

A Masters of Rural Health is for all health professionals. We encourage nurses, those working in allied health, those working in public health or health promotion, medical professionals and health managers to consider undertaking this study. We have had a range of students study in our program, including: GPs, nurses, health promotion officers, social workers, medical records specialists, consumer advocates, physiotherapists, etc. The course allows you to develop your research skills and work on a project in your area of interest and/or specialty.

The Masters in Rural Health at the School of Rural Health is a one-year program full-time or two years part-time. It is administered within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne . Candidates are generally required to hold an honours degree or postgraduate diploma.
Masters by research Candidates are required to produce a thesis of 30,000 words under the supervision of staff members at the School of Rural Health . Masters of Rural Health candidates apply for admission directly to the School of Rural Health by contacting the Postgraduate Coordinator.
