Corryong
The township is located on the Murray Valley Highway in the heart of the Upper Murray district in New South Wales. Corryong is 437 kilometres north-east of Melbourne and 116 kilometres east of Wodonga. It is about 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne via the Hume Freeway and Murray Valley Highway. According to 2001 census, the town has a population of 1139 with an area of 5 sq. kilometres. The town is steeped in history with many local being descendants of the pioneering families that settled this region and the surrounding high country. There are many lookouts that view Corryong and surrounding valleys, which are well worth to go for a drive.
Corryong offers a wide range of services and activities for tourists. Hotels, motels and caravan parks are available for accommodation.
The town also offers varieties of opportunities include shopping, boating, bushwalking, and canoe/kayak/raft: lake, river touring, cycling, fishing, 4WD driving, hang gliding and horse riding for visitors. Man from Snowy River Bush Festival in April is the major event in this town.
Corryong is approximately three and a quarter hours drive (280 kilometres) from Shepparton via Benalla Road, Midland Highway, Bridge Street, Benalla Winton Road, Great Alpine Road, Sydney Road, Beechworth Wodonga Road, High Street, Allans Flat Road, Kiewa Valley Highway and Murray Valley Highway.

We were provided with blank timetables and a list of contacts which enabled us t o organise our own time. The team was friendly and helpful.
