Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative

In 1957, Rumbalara's site was selected and on April 11th 1958, the housing project was officially opened and named 'Rumbalara' (meaning rainbow).

Approximately 300 people live in the river flats

Drug and alcohol with the Case Worker – a growing area needing support and with lots of research scope.
Spend time with an elder who showed us around the community and told us lots of history of the area.
A few more programs developing at the moment.  Maybe follow them up.

Staff was very welcoming and supportive.  Anything we expressed interest in was arranged for us.
Everyone was really supportive and keen to have us there, and to hopefully encourage us to return to Rumba as a practicing GP.
