Teaching and Learning
Student learning during clinical placements will be facilitated by the clinical placement liaison
person (staff of the health agency who liaises with the School of Rural Health). A work-place
is established between student and liaison person as soon as possible to discuss the focus of
the placement. Supervision and learning needs at the Community Placements is a negotiated
relationship. There should be discussion about potential assignments and cases and any particular
interests of the student, so that the assignments are worthwhile for the local community/health
providers and also fulfill the student’s learning needs. The SRH webpage shows completed and
potential projects at the clinical placements.
